THE DETAILS THAT MATTER

AI Disclosure

A clear view of what AI helps with, what it receives, and what remains your decision.

Last updated

SchoolWhool uses optional AI assistance to help you understand a role and prepare application materials. AI does not make hiring decisions or authorize applications on your behalf.

1. Where AI is used

When AI is configured and you choose Analyze & tailor, SchoolWhool asks the configured OpenAI model to produce:

  • A fit assessment with reasons and qualification gaps.
  • Suggested changes to passages in your résumé.
  • A cover-letter draft based on your profile and the selected role.

The model used depends on the service configuration. If the provider fails or the output cannot be validated, SchoolWhool reports an error. It does not replace the failed response with a simulated assessment.

2. What is sent to the provider

The request contains your profile, including résumé text and any other profile fields you supplied, along with the selected job's title, company, and description. Share only information you want processed for this purpose.

The request uses the OpenAI Responses API with response storage disabled. Provider policies and account settings still govern its processing and retention. See the Privacy Policy for the wider data flow.

3. What the scores mean

The discovery feed's keyword overlap scores compare terms in your skills and a listing. They are calculated by application code and are distinct from the AI fit assessment.

An AI fit assessment is the model's interpretation of the supplied information. Neither kind of score is an employer ATS score, a verified qualification decision, or a prediction that you will get an interview or an offer. Missing or incomplete job descriptions can affect the usefulness of either assessment.

4. Review controls and their limits

SchoolWhool checks the structure of the AI response and filters résumé edits whose source text cannot be uniquely located. It also rejects edits that introduce numeric claims absent from their source passage. Your original résumé stays intact.

These checks cannot establish that every sentence is true, fair, complete, or suitable for your situation. AI can misunderstand context, overstate your contribution, miss qualifications, or reflect bias. Compare suggestions with your actual experience and remove unsupported claims.

Review and edit materials before approving them. Updating your profile invalidates earlier reviews and approvals so old decisions do not silently apply to changed information.

5. Approval remains yours

Approving application materials does not submit an employer form. Supported Greenhouse applications require a separate review and final approval tied to the form and active browser session.

SchoolWhool does not guess work authorization, demographic information, or screening answers. Unsupported fields and verification challenges require manual completion. Uncertain submission results are not automatically retried.

6. Features that do not use generative AI

Public job-board fetching, keyword ranking, the application tracker, and Gmail message classification use application logic. Gmail sync is manual and read-only; it does not send email or send message content to the AI provider. The limited Greenhouse browser adapter follows supported form-handling rules rather than offering universal AI automation for every employer system.

7. Your choices

You can use discovery, saving, tracking, manual editing, and material downloads without an AI request. AI features require provider configuration and your request to analyze a role. You can reject suggestions and keep your own wording.

The sample marketing preview is illustrative. It does not run an AI model or represent a live assessment of your profile.
