AI can ask consistent questions, organize options and help you rehearse. It does not observe your workplace, know an employer's decision or carry responsibility for a career choice.

Good coaching tasks for AI

  • Clarify a decisionTurn a vague choice into criteria, assumptions and information still missing.
  • Map evidence to rolesCompare your projects and experience with repeated responsibilities across real postings.
  • Practice explanationsRehearse a concise project story and ask for unclear jumps or unsupported claims.
  • Build an experimentChoose a small course, conversation or project that tests an interest before a major commitment.

Where a person still matters

Ask a practitioner about the daily work, a manager about expectations, and someone who knows you about patterns the transcript misses. Use AI to prepare better questions for those conversations, not to replace them.

A grounded coaching prompt

  1. Supply the evidence

    List actual work, projects, constraints and options.

  2. Ask for questions first

    Do not request a verdict before the missing context is visible.

  3. Request alternatives

    Make the tool show at least three plausible paths and their tradeoffs.

  4. Choose a reversible test

    Prefer a one-week action that produces evidence over a confident prediction.

Keep the claim in proportion

  • A keyword match or AI fit assessment is guidance, not an employer ATS score or a prediction of being hired.
  • Course and tool availability is described as it exists today; planned material is labelled rather than presented as published.
  • Job applications happen on the employer's site, under your control.

It can structure the choice, but it cannot know your lived priorities or guarantee an outcome. Use it to design tests and questions.

Yes, as a comparison aid. Verify requirements in the original posting and make your own decision.
