Careerflow vs Teal: LinkedIn presence, or application throughput

Careerflow and Teal are frequently compared because their feature lists rhyme: a job tracker, a browser extension, AI résumé and cover-letter help, a subscription for the unlimited version.

The useful distinction is where each one thinks your search is weakest.

Careerflow leans toward being found. LinkedIn optimisation is a headline feature, alongside tracking and AI assistance. The implied model is that a stronger public profile brings opportunities to you.

Teal leans toward throughput. Capture postings as you browse, keep notes and compensation on each, tailor a résumé against the posting, track what you sent.

Both models are legitimate. They suit different searches, and a mid-career candidate with an active profile often wants the first while someone applying cold wants the second.

A note on pricing

Teal+ is listed at $13 every 7 days, $29 every 30 days, or $79 every 90 days, unlocking unlimited matching, analysis, templates, advanced design controls and AI use (read from tealhq.com on 2026-09-20). The free tier includes the job tracker and the résumé builder.

Careerflow's plan structure is not stated here. We were not able to read it from Careerflow's own pages on 2026-09-20, and the figures circulating on review and directory sites disagree with each other. Read careerflow.ai directly before buying, and do not trust a third-party list for this — including ours.

That is worth saying plainly because price is usually the deciding factor in this particular comparison, and it is the one fact we cannot give you honestly.

Choose Careerflow if

• Your LinkedIn profile is a live part of your search and you want structured help on it
• You are in a field where recruiters approach candidates and inbound matters
• You want tracking and profile work from one vendor rather than two
• You are comfortable checking the current plan terms yourself

Choose Teal if

• You are applying outbound, in volume, and the constraint is organisation
• You want the résumé builder and per-posting matching in the same editor
• You capture postings from many boards and want the extension to do it
• A one-week plan matches the shape of your search

What to test in both

Whatever the price turns out to be, run the same check before subscribing to either:

The invention test. Give the tool your real résumé and a posting asking for one thing you have never done. Read every suggested change against your original. Look for a skill that appeared in the skills list, a number that appeared in a bullet, "contributed to" upgraded to "led", and a team project that became solo. One invented item is a liability in an interview, not a time-saver.

The score question. Both will show some measure of fit. Neither reads the employer's applicant tracking system, because no third-party tool can. Both are models of relevance built from the posting's text — prompts to look again, not thresholds to clear.

The tracker's memory. Six weeks after applying, can you tell which résumé version the employer received? A tracker that records only company and date will not answer the question the interview raises.

Choose neither if

Both assume you are finding roles elsewhere and bringing them in — Careerflow through your profile and network, Teal through your own browsing. If the shortlist itself is the problem, neither subscription fixes it.
