A template should make dates, roles, skills and results easy to find. It should not force your history into columns, charts or decorative labels that become the main thing a reader notices.

A dependable one-column outline

Template is not tailoring
A clean layout solves presentation. Tailoring solves relevance: choosing the most useful true evidence for a particular role. Do the layout once and the evidence selection for each serious application.
Keep the claim in proportion
- A keyword match or AI fit assessment is guidance, not an employer ATS score or a prediction of being hired.
- Course and tool availability is described as it exists today; planned material is labelled rather than presented as published.
- Job applications happen on the employer's site, under your control.

Do I need an ATS template?
Use ordinary headings, selectable text and a clear reading order. No third-party template can guarantee how every employer system will parse a file.
Should a technical résumé use two columns?
A single column is usually easier to scan and export reliably. Use a second column only after checking reading order and narrow-screen or text extraction behavior.
