A source-first workflow

  1. Remove unnecessary personal data

    Share only the information needed for the editing task.

  2. Provide the résumé and posting

    Label them clearly and state that facts may come only from the résumé.

  3. Ask for a requirement map

    Request requirements, matching evidence and honest gaps before any rewrite.

  4. Request edits as diffs

    Require the exact original passage, replacement and reason.

  5. Verify every change

    Reject new tools, metrics, ownership, employers or qualifications.

A useful boundary

Anthropic's own candidate guidance asks applicants to create the first draft themselves and use Claude to refine it, with real experience preserved. That is a sound rule beyond one employer: author the evidence, then ask the model to help communicate it.

Use AI to reorganize and clarify facts you supplied, never to manufacture experience, qualifications or results. Read every proposed sentence against the source résumé before you use it.

Keep the claim in proportion

  • A keyword match or AI fit assessment is guidance, not an employer ATS score or a prediction of being hired.
  • Course and tool availability is described as it exists today; planned material is labelled rather than presented as published.
  • Job applications happen on the employer's site, under your control.
